Prior-authorization programs for controlling drug spending
Article Abstract:
Medicaid programs aimed to control the rapid increase in drug spending by using copayments, requiring beneficiaries to share the costs of medications, to discourage the use of unnecessary medications, however, the way it implemented this, was not progressable to achieve its goal. As a result, state Medicaid programs have implemented prior-authorization programs to restrict coverage of coxibs to patients who are at high risk for gastrointestinal complications from nonselective NSAIDs.

From culture to vaccine-Salk and Sabin
Article Abstract:
The study demonstrated that there were three distinct stereotypes of poliovirus where viremia was identified in early poliovirus infection and experiment showed that specific serum antibodies to poliovirus were protective in monkeys. Jonas Salk and Albert Sabin received generous research funding from the foundation, but O'Connor decided that Salk's vaccine was likely to be available sooner and became a catalyst to accelerate its development.
