Protecting special interests in the name of "good science"
Article Abstract:
The Data Quality Act (DQA) enacted by the US Congress in 2000 provides a potent mechanism for interested parties to change the way government agencies review science. The Act offers a powerful weapon by which vested interests foster scientific uncertainty as a socially acceptable means to delay or block actions intended to protect the nation's environment and health.
