Human neutralizing monoclonal antibodies of the IgG1 subtype protect against mucosal simian-human immunodeficiency virus infection
Article Abstract:
A combination of three IgG monoclonal antibodies against a chimeric simian-human form of HIV-1 protected pregnant macaque monkeys from infection. Their babies were also protected against infection for up to 6 months. This could be the basis of an effective mucosal AIDS vaccine.

Protection of macaques against vaginal transmission of a pathogenic HIV-1/SIV chimeric virus by passive infusion of neutralizing antibodies
Article Abstract:
Anti-HIV-1 neutralizing monoclonal antibodies protected mice from a vaginal HIV challenge. This could be the basis of an effective AIDS vaccine, since HIV is usually transmitted via the mucosa.

Delay of HIV-1 rebound after cessation of antiretroviral therapy through passive transfer of human neutralizing antibodies
Article Abstract:
The potency of three neutralizing antibodies in suppressing viral rebound in six acutely and eight chronically HIV-1-infected individuals undergoing interruption of antiretroviral treatment is evaluated to determine the protective potential of the humoral immune response against HIV-1. Only two of eight chronically infected individuals showed evidence of a delay in viral rebound during the passive immunization.
