Re-engineered CD40 receptor enables potent pharmacological activation of dendritic-cell cancer vaccines in vivo
Article Abstract:
A potent drug-inducible receptor that permits temporally controlled, lymphoid-localized, dendritic-cell (DC)-specific activation is engineered that comprises of a membrane-localized cytoplasmic domain of CD40 fused to drug-binding domains. This allows it to respond to a lipid-permeable, highly affinity dimerizer drug while circumventing ectodomain-dependent negative-feedback mechanisms.

Edible vaccines not ready for main course
Article Abstract:
Edible vaccines produced in genetically modified crops gives cheap and effective protection against various infectious diseases. Many companies are avoiding the issue of edible vaccine by developing injectable plant-based vaccines, by using nonfood crops or by not using genetically modified crops.

Halted trial renews questions about cancer vaccines
Article Abstract:
Swiss authorities have ended a much-heralded cancer vaccine trial at Zurich University. The main problem is the lack of standardized protocols for conducting trials with the vaccines.Dendritic cells are one of the most promising approaches to increase protective immunity against cancer.
