Progenitor cells indicative of lower cardiac risk?
Article Abstract:
A study reveals that the blood levels of endothelial progenitor cells, a type of adult stem cell that repairs damage to the walls of blood vessels, may indicate a personEs risk of developing heart disease or stroke. Findings suggest that damage to artery linings combined with a lack of repair cells may affect the progression of heart disease.
