Regression of abdominal aortic aneurysm by inhibition of c-Jun N-terminal kinase
Article Abstract:
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a common disease among elderly people that when surgical treatment is inapplicable result in the progressive expansion and rupture of the aorta with high mortality. c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) is identified as a proximal signaling molecule in the pathogens of AAA while JNK promotes abnormal extracellular matrix metabolism in the tissue of AAA and represents a therapeutic target.

Myosin light chain kinase mediates sarcomere organization during cardiac hypertrophy in vitro
Article Abstract:
Myosin light chain kinase appears to be the signaling pathway that links extracellular stimuli to sarcomere organization in cardiac myocytes. Hypertrophic agonists such as phenylephrine or angiotensin II cause the enzyme to be phosphorylated, which also involves the Ca(super)2+/calmodulin pathway.

Direct, convergent hypersensitivity of calcium-activated force generation produced by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy mutant alpha-tropomyosins in adult cardiac myocytes
Article Abstract:
Cardiac myocytes that have mutations in the gene for alpha-tropomyosin can produce inappropriate force during conditions of submaximal calcium levels. This indicates that these mutations can cause hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
