Researchers tap into the male brain
Article Abstract:
Researchers have revealed genetic, anatomical and functional differences in the brain that might have implications for better diagnosis and treatment of a variety of conditions in men and women. Research has shown that the same genes often act differently in males and females, has found a particular gene expressed in the male brain that might explain why men are 1.5 times more likely to develop Parkinson's disease than women and also has provided evidence that amphetamines have a greater effect on men's brains than on women's.

Scientists scope out Huntington disease
Article Abstract:
The researchers at the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease at the University of California, San Francisco, have found evidence that could end the debate over the role of abnormal protein deposits in the brains of patients with Huntington disease. The evidence showed that the cells died more rapidly if they did not develop inclusion bodies, which are aggregates of abnormal deposits of a protein called Huntington, indicating that cell death did not depend on inclusion body formation.
