Article Abstract:
A 16-year-old victim of a vicious rape attack was given psychological and medical care at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, UK. Her rectum and vagina were badly injured and she also suffered peritonitis and needed bowel surgery. She was supported by a clinical nurse in the children's support service, who contacted agencies including Rape Crisis and Victim Support for help. Parenteral nutrition was also instrumental in helping the patient towards recovery.

Article Abstract:
The personal medical service (PMS) unit at Grays, Essex, UK, is one of eight units dedicated to giving primary medical care to travellers. It also serves refugees. At the unit are a health visitor, a nurse practitioner, two administrators, and a part-time general practitioner, led by community development nurse, Mary Low, a qualified health visitor and midwife.
