Safety-centered care: projects take corrective, rather than preventive, view of patient injuries
Article Abstract:
Many medical associations are beginning to examine ways to prevent injuries to patients caused by physician errors. Physicians are trained to strive for perfection in their practice and are therefore reluctant to admit to mistakes. Several associations are researching safety practices developed by other industries and will publish recommendations and standards for physicians.
