Macmillan clinical nurse specialist Janice Fletcher developed a best practice statement for radiotherapy skin care, which ranges from mild erythema right though the moist desquamation in which the epidermis sloughs away. The importance of asking for expert opinions including patients' views and taking a wider look at issues involved are discussed.
