Searching for the right search--Reaching the medical literature
Article Abstract:
Web-based search engines are transforming the use of medical literature by creating links from Google and other search engines to gain direct access to the articles or information required. In addition, an increasing number of biomedical libraries and medical institutions can link from search results to their online subscriptions to journals, their electronic catalogue of print holdings, publishers' Web sites and other full-text digital archives.

Imposing personal responsibility for health
Article Abstract:
Personal responsibility of health care involves voluntary adherence of healthy lifestyles and making efforts to maintain good health so as to spend less money on health care. However, some measures such as the redesigned West Virginia Medicaid program, which requires people to sign and strictly follow a 'Medicaid Member Agreement' to avail the benefits of the program, are considered coercive and potentially counterproductive.

Registration of clinical trials-voluntary or mandatory?
Article Abstract:
The public registration of clinical trials is voluntary or mandatory, as bills introduced earlier in Congress would require, is discussed. A comprehensive public trials registry, www. clinical trials. gov, provides a mechanism for the voluntary registration of clinical trials.
