Article Abstract:
Safety professionals are required to ensure that the staff is well acquainted with the hazards outlined in the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) of the equipment and supplies. The information in the MSDS often tends to be too technical, too voluminous, and obscures the main points under legal sheathing. Occupational Safety & Health Administration's amendment to standards for hazard communication, and the growing interest in the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) is discussed.
