Reduced stability of retinoblastoma protein by gankyrin, an oncogenic ankyrin-repeat protein overexpressed in hepatomas
Article Abstract:
Research presented concerns the genetic aspects of hepatocellular carcinoma or liver cancer. Topics addressed include oncogenic transformation, cell growth, and the relationship between gankyrin overexpression, the retinoblastoma gene, and hepatocarcinogenesis.

Selection, the mutation rate and cancer: ensuring that the tail does not wag the dog
Article Abstract:
The authors discuss the current focus on genomic mutation as a primary factor in cancer growth, since the mutation, of itself, does not cause tumor growth. They suggest expansion of that view to include the additional factors which lead to the growth of tumors.
