Serum dioxin nd immunologic response in veterans of Operation Ranch Hand
Article Abstract:
Studies of Operation Ranch Hand veterans failed to reveal a consistent correlation between exposure to dioxin and immune system alterations. Research included examination of skin test responses, disease susceptibility, immunoglobulin serum concentrations, and autoantibody and lymphocyte counts, and compared these among four separate dioxin exposure categories. Findings could not determine a causal link.

Increasing response rates for mailed surveys of Medicaid clients and other low-income populations
Article Abstract:
A comparison of several mailing strategies indicated the most successful methods of obtaining survey responses from Medicaid patients. Surveys mailed with $2.00 incentives had the highest response rate, at 50.3%. Responses were also higher for certified mailings, at 28.1%, than with priority mailings, at 21.7%, and revealed no incentive-correlated bias.
