More to it than vinegar and brown paper
Article Abstract:
Preventing children from suffering accidents through education and information has helped UK accident and emergency (A&E) nurse Sarifa Kabir be recognized by the medical profession. Kabir has been awarded a Brecon health improvement award which could result in her ultimately winning a top award from the National Health Service. Kabir believes prevention is the key to reducing the number of child-related accidents. The number of children presenting at Kabir's A&E department for drinking harmful substances has fallen to 1% of total attendees in 1999 compared with 7% in 1995 due to her programme of education.
