Setting your practice goals

All dentists should write down their goals and make sure the goals are realistic and achievable. Goals must have a deadline and there must be some way to measure the progress toward the goal. For this reason, goals should include a method of generating data that can be measured.

The need to create good management systems and train the staff to handle the operational aspects will relieve the practicing dentists from nonclinical responsibilities. Suggestions that will help dentists use their time more effectively are presented.
