Sexual Dysfunction in the United States: Prevalence and Predictors
Article Abstract:
Many men and women suffer from sexual dysfunction. A survey of 1,749 women and 1,410 men found that 43% of the women and 31% of the men reported some degree of sexual dysfunction. Among women, different ethnic groups had different frequencies of sexual dysfunction but this was not true of men. Poor physical and emotional health was associated with sexual dysfunction and many men and women with sexual dysfunction reported having negative sexual experiences.

A study to estimate the number of US individuals aged 12 years or older who have impaired distance vision due to uncorrected refractive error is presented. The results suggest that approximately 14 million individuals aged 12 years or older were estimated to be visually impaired and more than 11 million of these individuals could attain visual acuity good enough to qualify them for a driver's license in most states with refractive correction.

Forecasted State-Specific Estimates of Self- Reported Asthma Prevalence--United States, 1998
Article Abstract:
Asthma appears to affect approximately six to seven percent of the population. This figure comes from a study that used data from the Census Bureau and the 1995 National Health Interview Survey. By state, the percentage of the population with asthma ranged from 5.8% to 7.2%. This indicates that about 17 million Americans have asthma. In 1993-1994, this figure was about 13.7 million Americans.
