Signs and symptoms of constipation: Part one
Article Abstract:
Constipation can occur to anyone at any time, which may from the slight, causing no disruption to life, to the severe, impacting upon an individual's physical, psychological, and social well being, and hence patients presenting with constipation require careful assessment to identify the cause. The signs and symptoms of constipation and the manner of assessing a patient who is experiencing problems with defecation are presented.

The Eton scale: A tool for risk assessment for constipation
Article Abstract:
The Eton Scale is a tool, which can identify the contributory factors leading to constipation. The purpose of this tool is to enhance nursing practice and further research studies into the efficacy of the scale to ensure its reliability, sensitivity and place in the bowel management of patients.
