Six-month androgen suppression plus radiation therapy vs. radiation therapy alone for patients with clinically localized prostate cancer
Article Abstract:
The research was conducted to assess the survival benefit of three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT) alone or in combination with six months androgen suppression therapy (AST) in patients with clinically localized prostate cancer. The findings show that addition of six months of AST to 70 Gy 3D-CRT confers an overall survival benefit for patients with clinically localized prostate cancer.
