Skin stem cells - a hairy issue
Article Abstract:
Research addresses the role played by the follicular stem cells in the hair formation and skin epidermis development. Data show that hair follicle is a main reservoir for epidermal stem cells and an understanding of their development and differentiation processes aid skin replacement, wound healing, and skin cancer treatments.

Is the UK ready for an NCI?

If the UK creates its own version of the US National Cancer Institute, it will have to increase funding for cancer research. The government only spends [pound]90 million per year on cancer research, compared to the [pound]150 million spent by cancer charities.

Inviting leukemic cells to waltz with the devil
Article Abstract:
The oncoprotein BCR-ABL found in chronic myeloid leukemia has been shown to convert to a leukemic killer once it enters the nucleus. This suggest a three-step method for improving modular targeting in leukemia treatment.
