Southeast Asia battles burning workplace issue
Article Abstract:
Governments, companies and multinationals in Southeast Asia are recognizing the need for occupational fire safety programs to ensure further economic development. High building costs in the region is pointed as one of the reasons for neglecting fire prevention programs. To address the growing workplace fire problems in the region, the National Fire Protection Association has opened its first ofice in Bangkok, Thailand aimed at encouraging Southeast Asian governments to adopt its standards and codes.
