Issues are presented concerning the role played by diet and rest as parts of the training routine of bodybuilders. The importance of rest days to aid the recovery of muscles which have been extensively exercised is discussed.

High-intensity training: a HIT or miss?

The advantages and disadvantages of high-intensity training are discussed with emphasis on health aspects. HIT involves performing one set of repetitions to failure instead of a number of sets of each exercise.
