Study aims to clarify efficacy, safety of eye drug treatments
Article Abstract:
The National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health plans to fund a new multicenter clinical trial to compare two drugs, ranibizumab (Lucentis) and bevacizumab (Avastin) used to treat advanced age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The trial would evaluate 1200 patients with new-onset untreated neovascular AMD, enrolled at 45 centers throughout the U.S.

Study reveals ginseng supplements may hamper effects of anticlotting drug
Article Abstract:
The researchers at the University of Chicago studied that ginseng could be used as a tonic for improving energy and vitality as it reduces the effects of the anticlotting medication warfarin. The findings suggested that if ginseng is taken alone it could promote bleeding and delay clot formation.

New drug-eluting stents under study
Article Abstract:
The first generation of drug-eluting stents is facing number of trials and investigation for inappropriate use. These trials are on some patients with stable coronary artery disease and possibly for promoting late-event thrombosis.
