Article Abstract:
Experts are concerned that progress is lagging and that current research strategies and designs are not tackling the challenges ahead especially in the case of oncology drugs, while it was thought that research on human genome would lead to better diagnostics and therapies. To address the problem, the Food and Drug Administration has created a new program to improve the way drugs and devices make their way through the preclinical and clinical process.
