The OSCE represents the 'least worst' clinical testing option
Article Abstract:
Concerns are raised with respect to the use of objective structural clinical examination (OSCE), an assessment tool for testing patients, as some nurses have experienced OSCEs, others are still in a ignorance and double anxiety. The OSCE is actually harder for the examiners to organise than for candidates to undergo, but since there is no perfect 'one-size-fits-all' assessment tool that can cater for all backgrounds within the scope of advanced clinical nursing practice, this method is considered as the 'least worst' option.
