The demedicalization of childbirth
Article Abstract:
Health care providers are trying to individualize the childbirth experience by avoiding unnecessary medical interventions. Birth is a natural process, and not all women need pain relief or episiotomies. The World Health Organization has published a document on care for normal births.

Most deaths of newborn infants can be avoided
Article Abstract:
The World Health Organization believes that most deaths of newborns can be prevented through proper medical care. Proper hygiene, warmth, breastfeeding, immunization of the mother and resuscitation can increase the chances of infants' survival.
