The future of contraception
Article Abstract:
There has been extensive research in the UK over recent years into more reliable and safe methods of contraception. However, latest contraceptive methods are in fact merely sophisticated versions of those that have been in use for many years. Problems arise with developing new contraceptive methods because the entire research process can take up to 20 years, because funding is limited and because it is hard to recruit suitable women to test new contraceptives. However, there have been some developments, including injectable contraceptives and implants.
