The future of dementia care
Article Abstract:
The Alzheimer's Society's report contains researches on dementia, a progressive degradation of brain cells causing loss of memory and mood swings. The society has predicted a rise of 154% in dementia patients by 2051 and has recommended a special training in dementia-care for nurses and social care staff since a poor understanding of the disease leads to under-diagnosis.

Improving vitamin D levels in pregnancy and breastfeeding

The Department of Health is spreading awareness of risk involved in the deficiency of vitamin D supplement and benefits of sun exposure during winter. Women are advised to increase the daily intake of vitamin D in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
