The road to research is paved with restrictions

The complicated rules for information consent, financial conflict of interest and protecting the patient privacy, all of which add to the thicket of red tape surrounding such research was released by the US administration. The rule requires patients written authorization for revealing protected health information and that its immediate and potential effects on clinical research are far reaching.
