The squat: get it right

The free-weight squat should be done maintaining the natural curvature of the back to take the stress placed by the weight. The squat is useful in developing the quadriceps, the hamstrings and gluteus maximus. It should be done with a straight back and thighs parallel to the surface to prevent injury and maximize its effects.
