Improving the quality of fixed prosthodontic services
Article Abstract:
The three biggest problems concerning the manufacture of fixed dentures from records supplied by a dentist are inadequate impressions, poor tooth preparations, and poor interocclusal records. This was the conclusion of a survey of laboratory technicians published in the April, 2000 issue of Lab Management Today.

Have fixed-prosthodontic impressions become easier?
Article Abstract:
Instructions for making impressions for dental crowns and fixed dentures are provided. Feedback from laboratories reveals the poor quality of many impressions sent to labs. Despite what some product ads claim, it can be very difficult to make good-quality impressions.

The state of fixed prosthodontic impressions: room for improvement
Article Abstract:
The clinical issues and possible solutions associated with fixed prosthodontic impressions are analyzed. Issues examined are indistinct margin reproduction, indiscernible margin preparations, presence of voids and bubbles, and debris on impressions.
