The nucleolus: at the stem of immortality
Article Abstract:
This article discusses the role of nucleostemin, a nucleolar protein, in the regulation of stem and cancer cell proliferation. The protein is localized to the nucleoli of stem cells and cancer cells. Data indicate that it binds to the p53 protein and may modulate its function.
