The working wounded: strokes
Article Abstract:
Strokes affect 100,000 to 120,000 people annually, of which 10,000 occur before the age of retirement. Strokes occur as a result of blood supply blockage to the brain or leakage from a blood vessel in the brain. Damage depends on how many brain cells are killed during the stroke. Rachel Brown suffered a stroke at the age of 30. Details of how the stroke affected her health and position at work are given.
