This working life: ladder safety
Article Abstract:
Ladders can be extremely dangerous when used inappropriately or without due care and attention. Up to 30 people died using ladders in the workplace between 1997 and 1998. Workers using ladders may be tempted to over-stretch themselves to reach awkward areas causing the ladder to topple over. Guttering or wood work supporting a ladder may appear safe but unsecure nails may give way causing the user to fall badly.
