Don't let latex allergy leave you short-handed
Article Abstract:
The dramatic rise in glove use has increased latex allergy cases. Latex, which is used in several consumer and medical products, contains proteins that can cause allergic contact dermatitis as well as life-threatening immediate hypersensitivity reactions. Healthcare companies and other businesses are advised to educate their employees on latex allergy, assess the protein-levels of latex gloves, monitor workplace air quality for latex proteins and use non-latex alternatives.
