Topical medications for orofacial neuropathic pain: a review
Article Abstract:
The development of compounds that can carry a drug through the skin and mucosa may be useful for treating facial pain. One such compound is called pluronic lecithin organogel, which comes in the form of a cream that can be applied to the face. Others include mucoadhesive bases and oral pastes, toothpaste, adhesive patches and powders, tissue-covering stents, resins that dissolve in the mouth, medicated chewing gum and candy, tablets and lozenges, mouthwashes, and medicated lipstick.

Treating obstructive sleep apnea and snoring: assessment of an anterior mandibular positioning device
Article Abstract:
Only half of the patients who receive an anterior mandibular positioning device for treating sleep apnea will continue using the device for longer than one or two years. This was the conclusion of a survey of 53 patients, many of whom experienced jaw and tooth pain, and malocclusion caused by the device.
