Transmission of Mycobacterium tuberculosis from health care workers
Article Abstract:
A rising number of foreign-born health care workers play a crucial role in health care delivery in the US, but one consequence of this is that an increasing proportion of US health care providers are infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Recommended approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis infection in foreign-born care workers are the same as those for workers born in the US, but applying such recommendations to foreign-born persons can be complicated.
