Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the management of wounds often treated in accident and emergency departments and minor injury units are discussed. Abrasions are generally left to heal by secondary intention, but it is advisable to cover them with a non-adherent dressing. Bite wounds carry significant risk of infection, and antibiotics may be required.
