Treatment of breast cancer
Article Abstract:
Optimal therapy for breast cancer often includes radiation or chemotherapy after surgical removal of the tumor, since most women with the disease have cancerous lymph nodes around the breast tumor. Identification and biopsy of sentinel lymph nodes near the tumor can determine if the disease has spread beyond the primary tumor. Adjuvant chemotherapy or radiotherapy improve survival in breast cancer, and antiestrogen therapy with tamoxifen or ovarian ablation can reduce cancer recurrence. Autologous hematopoietic stem cell infusion allows high-dose, short-course chemotherapy.

Radiotherapy plus cetuximab for squamous-cell carcinoma of the head and neck
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to compare radiotherapy alone with radiotherapy plus cetuximab, a monoclonal antibody against the epidermal growth factor receptor, in the treatment of locoregionally advanced sqamous-cell carcinoma of the head and neck. It is concluded that the treatment improves locoregional control and reduces mortality without increasing the common toxic effects associated with radiotherapy to the head and neck.
