Patient perceptions of breast biopsy procedures for screen-detected lesions
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to compare patient perception of two common image-guided breast biopsy procedures on three main outcomes: decision making about which procedure to undergo, its convenience and its side effects. It is proposed that women and their physicians should discuss the benefits and risks of the various biopsy procedures before deciding how to proceed when a suspicious lesion is noticed on screening.
