Article Abstract:
Nurses should recognize that protesting about pay and conditions will ultimately have a knock-on effect on patient care because the health service will more able to offer a better service. However, although nurses often complain about their grievances, they rarely protest about them because nurses have become used to having vary little power and influence. Home commitments can also prevent nurses from getting involved in campaigning. However, nurses have considerable media appeal and any protest can get a lot of attention. Nurses can also work within the system to bring about change.
