Validity of histopathological grading of articular cartilage from osteoarthritiic knee joints
Article Abstract:
The Histological-Histochemical Grading System (HHGS) is useful in differentiating between normal and osteoarthritic (OA) articular cartilage when the OA condition is severe, but it does not make such distinctions when the OA is mild or moderate. Using 89 sections of articular cartilage taken from both normal and OA knee joints, grading was done on a 0-14 scale. Average readings were lower than expected for moderate and severe and higher than expected for mild OA and normal.

Systemic vasculitis or not? That is the question
Article Abstract:
The authors discuss a patient whose symptoms were misleading and difficult to diagnose initially. Treatment and testing for various incorrect diagnoses, including drug reactions and interactions led them finally to distinguish between vasculitis and primary angiitis of the central nervous system. In the article, they explain the salient points of distinction.

A prospective study of vasculitis patients collected in a five year period: evaluation of the Chapel Hill nomenclature
Article Abstract:
The Chapel Hill nomenclature for classifying the different types of vasculitis may not be specific enough to be used diagnostically. Vasulitis is an inflammation of blood vessels, and it can affect large vessels only, medium-size vessels, or small vessels.
