Exercising in a gym can quickly become boring, causing loss of motivation and commitment. Training for an outdoor adventure such as mountain climbing, canoeing, cross-country cycling, or backpacking can be a good way to restore motivation and get into peak physical condition. Five organized outdoor adventures and corresponding training programs are presented.
