Industry-academic relations: an assessment of the linkages between a university and some enterprises in Nigeria
Article Abstract:
Technological/academic assistance and collaboration between the industry and the university will facilitate economic development. A survey on the university-industry programs of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Nigeria was conducted. The OAU established programs that interact with industries in the areas of industrial/technological research, business information and consultancy centers and pharmaceutical research. These programs have benefited both the university and the industry. Universities provide technical resources, equipment and information that enhance industrial productivity and competitiveness.

Locational decision-making and pattern of diffusion of frozen fish depots in Ibadan city, Nigeria
Article Abstract:
The choice of location of frozen depots in Ibadan city, Nigeria is influenced by its proximity to public markets. By using the Hagerstrand model, it was established that the overall structural arrangement of the depot is a strongly concentrated pattern. Other factors that influence the location of depots in the area include availability of space, accessibility to customers and electricity supply. The study could provide useful guidelines for entrepreneurs wanting to start new frozen fish depots in Ibadan Metropolitan Area.
