Felipe Alou is considered an essential part of the Montreal Expos. Alou, a Dominican-born former baseball player himself who saw action for the New York Giants in 1955, was chosen as the National League manager of the year in 1994 in recognition of his efforts as a great motivator. He is a potential candidate to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
