Terrence Malick staged a successful comeback in film directing via 'The Thin Red Line' after disappearing mysteriously for a time. He received critical acclaim for 'Badlands' (1974) and 'Days of Heaven' (1978), winning awards for best director for the latter. His next assignments are 'English-Speaker' and an adaptation of Walker Percy's novel 'The Moviegoer.'

Brooks, James L

James L Brooks has proven himself in television with the success of the shows he helped create including 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show.' Brooks worked with Paramount Pictures which agreed to release 'Terms of Endearment', which earned him several Oscar awards. In 1984, he signed up with Twentieth Century-Fox, where he co-produced the hit movie 'Big.'
