Chuck Barris became famous in 1965 as the creator of The Dating Game, a popular game show in which contestant questioned three hidden players of the opposite sex to determine which one to date. His 1970s creation 'The Gang Show' is best remembered for his manic introductions of hordes of show-business hopefuls who sang badly, wineingly unfunny jokes, and generally made fools of themselves.
