Article Abstract:
Roosevelt feeling the need for an international organization, organized the first meeting of the UN for April 25, 1995. A stamp to mark the meeting was prepared, but FDR died Apr 12 before its completion. To honor him and the event, the stamp's die was changed and his quote and signature were added.

FDR's postage-free stamp rejected
Article Abstract:
Pres Franklin Roosevelt proposed making a postage stamp to be used by soldiers during wartime who had free mailing privileges. The US Post Office rejected his idea on grounds that printing the stamp would be too expensive and time consuming.
