Article Abstract:
Plants and children have a great deal in common when it comes to meeting their growth needs. Plants with long stems, stalks or flimsy branches need stakes to give them support while they grow. Children also need the equivalent in emotional strength while they learn to cope with life.

Rainfall, unlike planned irrigation for a garden, is neither efficient nor reliable. It comes at the whim of nature, and its effect provides gardeners with a good opportunity to weed in moist soil, remove emerging slugs and enjoy the freshness it brings to the air.
