Rickel loses war for survival

Rickel Home Centers Pres and CEO Joe Nusim has announced the the 49-unit chain will cease its retail operation by the end of 1997. The announcement come eight months after the company emerged from Chapter 11 reorganization. While Nusim helped to maximize efficiency and closed some stores, the limited success it plan enjoyed was not enough to stop the closure.

Tool/golf supply retail chain expanding

Trend-Lines has embarked on an expansion program that will focusing on turning the chain's retail operations into its primary source of revenue. The company, which operates 23 Post Tool stores on the West Coast and 104 Woodworkers Warehouse stores in New England, had a strong presence in mail order golf supplies and wood working tools.
